Fighting Poverty with Education
Education is the best way to fight poverty.
It is a fundamental right for all children. Education opens the door to a world of new opportunities and paves the way for sustainable development.
Now that schools have reopened throughout the country, children in rural India can't wait to get back to the classroom. Unfortunately, not all of them have the means to get to school or the supplies they need to thrive when they do.
That's where your help is essential.
Your support will ensure that children from disadvantaged communities have uniforms, school supplies, and a bike to get to school if they live too far away to walk. With your help, children will be able to return to the classroom with confidence, study hard, and escape the cycle of poverty once and for all.
Will you help give children the supplies they need to succeed this schoolyear?

Three Ways to Make a Huge Difference:
1. Provide School Uniforms: Uniforms are required in most Indian schools. Right now, 3,170 students—1,675 boys and 1,495 girls—in the Dhone Area of Andhra Pradesh need uniforms to go back to school. 2,324 of these students are in primary school and 846 are in secondary school.
2. Donate a Bike: Many children from remote villages are forced to drop out of school if they don't have a bicycle to get to class. At this moment, 108 students—96 boys and 12 girls—in the Yemmiganur area of Andhra Pradesh need bicycles to continue their high school education.
3. Fund a Scholarship: This year, RDT is helping 100 children who have lost their parents receive a special scholarship to help them pursue their education. The scholarship covers tuition costs, accommodation and meals, examination fees, school materials, healthcare, trips to visit the family and a small stipend. Without this scholarship, most of these students would not be able to continue their education.
