This Holiday Season, Will You Make Sirivalli's Dreams Come True?
Sirivalli is just 12 years old and lives in Anantapur, one of the driest areas in rural India. Her dream is to become a doctor, so that she can help other people in her community. But she doesn't know how she can achieve her dream.
“The situation in my family is very bad. We are very poor and we have almost nothing. That is why I don't think I will be able to be a doctor," she says.
The pandemic made things even worse for over 247 million children in India.
Hundreds of thousands of families lost their main source of income when their breadwinners succumbed to COVID. When schools closed down, millions of children fell behind in their education and their nutrition.
Many children's dreams and hopes for a better future were put on hold.
Yet we still have time. We are collecting for a fund to support children's education in Anantapur through 10th grade.
For each child, the fund will provide:
- Room and board
- Transportation
- Health care access
